As long as we agree. I think my bitchery is that these idiots like Cage ironically only. While disclaiming irony.

I hate GenZ and whatever is after so much, especially for their weird Nick Cage and Keanu fetishes. If they had any sense, they would be giving this love for the guy who really deserves it - Willem Fucking Dafoe.
I dunno. Isn’t he just all-in on the disaster show that is modern men’s “fashion”? Apparently, it’s all about a giant ridiculous beard now?
Thank goodness for that clarification, Stewart. God forbid we let people make a GD joke.
We could cross-market with Uber Eats and your local healthcare syndicate. Or funeral home.
In this dumb reality, I feel like there’s a 99% chance this ends with Javanka calling the Ukraine and forcing them to dial back the EiP hate, then pirouettes to some product placement for Ivanka’s shoes. That doesn’t even seem far fetched.
Netflix and ill?
Huh? Peloton killed an unlikable character (married to an unlikable character) played by a sexual predator. I want to buy a Peloton more now!
I mean... the Kardashians did use Chinese sweatshop labor to build their fashion empire? So... not seeing a GIANT difference except that Bezos is wealthy and not as photogenic?
I mean, I have had exactly that experience? Reality fans who like the Keeping Up deal railing against Bezos and “1%ers”. I think it’s odd that they somehow can separate them because they seem to rise and fall together.
Interesting theory. The Kardashian fans I know are actually firmly in the anti-Bezos camp, but maybe they’re unusual.
Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
Random question - why does a social media body politic that hates wealth and wealthy people (see scorn for Bezos etc.) have a strange tolerance for the Kardashian types? Why no virtual guillotines for them?
Honestly? Because I think the show is very much about THE CITY. Maybe I read the show wrong, but I really think it’s in part the story of one vain woman and her very kind three friends who put up with her.
I disagree? I think Carrie in particular is set up to be a jerk. If we are meant to like and approve of her, the show just doesn’t work.
I would contrast this to the (much dumber, improperly compared) Entourage which didn’t have much of a thought in its glossy little head. SatC can be airy at times, but it is rarely…
The error in the review is here: “why is this character I am purportedly supposed to like...” If there is a true excellence to this season/series, it is that it is willing to dissect characters and reveal they (like EVERYONE) is not likeable uniformly. Carrie is a straight garbage friend, and always has been. So, she…
Journalistic question - why doesn’t this just say “accused of rape”? Because both these acts as alleged constitute rape. Given the weird world where less terrible conduct (Aziz’s “misconduct”) is somehow lumped into this, I feel like picking words with caution is wise. I wouldn’t want someone walking away thinking…
Saying “Cool” is one of “the least beloved numbers” in West Side Story is one of the dumber things I’ve read. It’s an iconic song that has been studied and analyzed in courses and literature on music and songwriting. And it is a decisively fun, complex, and engaging tune. If you’re gonna take shots at WSS, there…
I am amused that anyone can pretend there are limits to who can be President now. The 1/6 Shaman could legitimately run in a post/intra-Trump world, and perhaps win.
As someone who knows that neck of the woods, the layers of pandering to coastal (and Chicagoan) snobbery is hilarious. It feels like retreating to the Hamptons to avoid snobbery.
