I had a 2002 Altima, and I liked it. A lot of the materials seemed cheap on the interior, but it was a car that looked a little different, was mostly comfortable, decently equipped for the price and actually drove pretty well (and had a manual transmission, which was still relatively common then).

When I was a kid, my Dad’s 911 caught on fire as he was driving it, and once he noticed, he raced home and pulled right into the garage, which my mother found to be an odd choice.

I think there’s one thing we can all agree on in this terrible attack: Nissan makes cars with shitty transmissions.

We had a big thing in our neighborhood about a tow truck driver parking his tow truck on the street in the neighborhood... not even in front of somebody’s house, just at the end of the street by the train tracks.

It always struck me as a Jeep version of the Kia Soul. It’s pretty compact and the ones I’ve seen in the wild, at least, are pretty low to the ground.

It took three months just to get parts to fix my manual transmission Altima back in 2004. If I’m going to take a chance on another Nissan, it’s not going to be Rogue.

If I ever buy another F150, I will definitely be heading to eBay for some Lobo badges.

But that would require cleaning my garage.

Oh yeah, we Southern Baptists are a super judgy bunch and always willing to point out who’s going to Hell, which is usually everybody but the guy doing the pointing at that particular moment.

It’s a pretty stupid lie, but back in 1989, I had ordered a Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo before they were in stock but after the dealer had been allotted some. We put down a deposit and had paperwork showing that a particular black Eclipse Turbo that was supposed to be their first Turbo to arrive was ours when it came in.

You will still have to talk to the finance guy because he’s going to be doing the paperwork and all that, and he will still usually give the hard sell on warranties and other extras and try to get you to “just let them check” with their finance people to see if they can get a better rate.

I was just thinking that Las Cruces is a bit of a shithole.

I wouldn’t think any carmaker would want people associate Las Cruces with their vehicles. 

I didn’t see Chevy promise a competent electrician.

The time it would take to have the police respond to the call (*likely multiple hours) and the chance that they would just tell me it’s a civil matter that they won’t get involved with has a much bigger cost to me than the $10 and 10 minutes new plates cost.

How angry are the Scorpions?

I haven’t ridden in a Mercedes that I can remember since my Dad got rid of his SL600 several years back, but back in those days, I thought Mercedes did luxury the best of the big three Germans.

I had that happen, too, where they stole my plates while negotiating. Ended up leaving and stopping at DMV for new plates on the way home since they were adamant about not giving them back for some reason I cannot fathom beyond sheer assholery.
