My 2002 Altima was, despite it’s rather cheap interior, a car that drove well. Other than the transmission going out at 40K miles and taking 3 months to fix, I was a fan of the car.

What advantages does this motorcar have over, say, a train? Which I could also afford?

I’ve mentioned this before, but we looked at an Altima when my wife was in the market a couple of months ago, and while the car is nice looking and feature-laden, it drove like crap.
