Unfortunately, my Dad actually is cool. I wish my kids could say the same.

It reminds me a little of the current Kia Sportage in the front, though the Ford is better looking.

I’ve never been to a Lexus dealership, but I’ve heard nothing but praise about the dealership experience and service experience from friends of mine who have bought (and bought again) from local Lexus dealers.

Three vaguely anonymous crossovers... which leads me to believe they’re all set to shine in the States.

Yeah, the Bronco’s been discontinued. We’re trying to shed that whole fugitive-on-the-run thing. This is the Escape.”

I am a VW driver and apologist, but this seems like too large a premium for a slightly less practical but certainly attractive body style.

If anything, changing gears is easier when driving now. Back in ‘92, cup holders were just becoming prevalent, and a lot of them were useless. You know how hard it is to turn left from a stop with a Big Gulp in one hand and your other on the shifter?

I purchased a then-new Mazda 6 manual at one point. Granted, that point was 2004, but still...

And lose all their Italian charm?

I don’t see the Giulia on the list, though. Maybe the dealers knew not to order too many of those given its head start on the market.

Even when I’ve effectively “ordered” whatever car it is I want, they still end up being off somebody’s lot - like the dealer will find one with the set of options and color I want in San Antonio and trade with that dealership to sell it to me in Dallas.

I have family in the Flower Mound area, and it’s insane how much it has changed since they moved out there over 20 years ago.

On the VW, you couldn’t get the proximity unlocking without moving up to a different trim level for a lot more money, though I’ve seen people online add it after-the-fact (apparently the car has the capability just not the proper door handles or programming).

The super dumb thing about my VW Jetta is that I have push-button start, but to get into the car, I still have to get my key fob out and press the door unlock button like it’s 1996 or something.

I mean, I don’t need 300 hp, but my daily commute is largely devoid of stop-and-go traffic (and not a single on-ramp). And on the few days I bug out early to go pick up my kid from school (and take a different way home), I’ve got multiple lanes of newly paved asphalt practically to myself for the bulk of the trip.

When I was a kid, my Dad and I were driving to see my grandmother in Dallas. This being the 1970s, my Dad had a CB radio in his car and was talking to some trucker or somebody. Anyway, the dude asks where Dad is, and Dad answers in whatever the appropriate lingo of the time was. Then the dude asks where he’s headed,

I had a white ‘93 Probe GT manual back when it was new. I liked the car, but I didn’t get to keep it but a few months.... not long enough to grow in a chinstrap beard.

The secretly paying people off is always potentially fraught with peril, but Panay was taking 2% and giving half that to Axe. Axe, in turn, gave half his 1% to Gomez. Now they cut Panay out, so Axe can pay Sansome as much as Gomez and still have twice the cut he was getting with Panay as his front.

My insurance is a god bit less than half that for full coverage with low deductibles and rental car coverage on two leased cars just two years after a catastrophic hail storm that near-totaled our previous rides.

My other had an Achieva. She loved it, even though it was definitely a crap car.
