After that, no more issues other than a constant diet of front rotors. Was the DexCool incompatible with the plastic?

Definitely an afterthought, I considered the lid option. I found that the storage in the console was useless and noisy as I predominately drive mountain and canyon roads. The console cupholders only get used when my son and I go out for lunch (he HAS to get a large drink to go).
