You sure you got this? I seem to recall the 2nd gen Focus in the States was an upgrade of the 1st gen, while Europe got a brand new car, this one:

Good for you - as I said, I still like this car, just don’t want to drive it....

I really liked the concept of the Volvo C30. Built on the pretty decent 2nd gen Ford Focus chassis (the one you didn’t get in the States), but with much better Volvo exterior and interior design which made it just sporty/funky enough. And available with a 220 HP T5 engine. I liked this idea a lot, and as I root for

I am not likely to own any car made after 1990 if I can help it, and I freelance for a classic car magazine, concentrating on the 1970-1990 period, so I should be in total agreement. And to a degree i am: the best analogue cars were made in this period, maybe allowing to some 1990s models (NSX, E46 M3): when

“Do you long for the days when an M badge meant the car was built only for the purists?”

1986 MR2. It looks fast, and when you push it, it feels fast like you drive on the ragged edge. But it’s still only 116HP in a 1 ton body....

I just leave this here.

The original toyota mr2. When you’re not pushing, it’s just a 1.6 motor in a light car, so gets great mileage.

That’s actually isn’t a very good vehicle you pictured. Arguably one of the worse offerings among the current Peugeot crop. Heck, even a normal, non-raised and non-hybrid 508 Break HDI is better.

Nobody expects a Ferrari in any other color but red! However, we all know a Ferrari can be any one of three colors, Red, Yellow and Blue.

I missed the QOTD, but Kavinsky needs a mention!!!

I would pick up a Volvo V70 maybe diesel but definitely automatic, and with my choice of options, for every day purposes.

You know, honestly speaking the Y10 wasn’t half bad. Mine was a bit awry, but I still loved it, and i have to say, only ever stranded me once, in two years of ownership. No wonder they shifted close to 1,5 million of those, and 10-15 years ago there still were many around in rural Italy at least. Not any more, though.

Back in the day, when I my daily was a freaking Lancia Y10 junkyard escape vehicle

I already have it. I would say every other car on my “bucket list” is better than the 505. Or, you know what, this one could arguably be worse:

Here’s a question: are “Personal Luxury Coupés” like the Olds Tornado, Business Coupés, or GTs?

That’s a no-brainer for me, I never really wanted to live loooong anyway, the year off for free power of course.

You make a very good point, it’s just that the exact same sentence could have been said of the original XJ too, so this is Jaguar heritage. Still, good point, and I for one, like the current XJ.

Replacing this bad boy on my 1989 Audi 100.
