Forklift will do nothing but damage.

It's nothing to be proud of, but i have been seen smoking and using my phone while driving - stick. It's not impossible, people do drive distracted in my country too, even though autos are the exception here, much more so than in richer european contries.

You say that as if it ever snowns in California or Florida.

I probably told this here before - i did an interview with Zanardi at a Mini event when he was piloting for BMW in WTCC. The guy is exceptionally charming even for an italian race driver has a radiant smile, and answered straight and honest to the questions i, in hindsight, though might have been rude from me to ask.

As i live in an European city of comprehensive public transport, and close enough to my workplace to make riding a bike there a viable option, this should be a very easy yes.

I learned on my mothers' Audi 80 when i was 12. The car was pretty old by then (i am '78, the Audi '81), but the simple no-nonsense design of a 1.6 gas Audi 80 has everything you want when learning, so i liked it. I also broke it once when trying to exit the garage on my own, so there's that.

sorry wasn't online, but i see you found it. see you then!

Sure thing. I followed on your twitter just now, so we can get in touch when you're here. If there's a europe only new car you'd like to test drive while here, i might be of some help with that too.

The car in itself is a nice offering i would consider being seen in, but for that price? Oh no.

My Mom navigating??? Oh hell no. We would get lost in an instant, and because racecar at rally speed, by lost i mean dead.

If it was my bentley, i wouldn't. If it was someone elses project, and I only got to give it my best, then yeah, why not, but i don't think it'll manage the dirt roads.

In only the first three comments i read there were a lot of good ideas, and also i have no idea what a car's worth in US money, and i don't have the time to check. But you know what? Here's a list i would definitely make my own, ie: buy and (re)build:

It took me a looooooong time to get out of the trap that is #1. But now i only advise my friends to get an OG Saab 900 coupe, when i am absolutely certain they want an 'old car', and specifically a saab.

The last time i checked both came with the same 200hp 2.0 turbo, and the scirocco, just like the original, is based completely on the golf, just with sexier design.

That's the exact reason why they won't sell that in the US. It's a more expensive car than $20k, but you wouldn't pay that much for it, so that's about it.

As a father, i shed a tear for your caring heart. That's as good a plan as any out there.

I could do that, but Pagani will have to rent the track for me, because there is only a single open track day per month, and then there are of course a lot of cars on there. I know driving 20 hours in 24 is a lot to ask from my body, but i could only drive a net of 3-4 hours if i chose the H'ring track day, and i do

You know, that's a grand idea. And i happen to have a good friend who would do the honors of piloting my mr2 there, then we could divide our time in the two cars. This also means filming an epic video, as we'll have an extra hand with a car there. After that beer, sleep, and then do the passes in the MR2 as well.
