I don't know how far you are with Don Quixote, but I found the second volume to be much better and funnier then the first. There's less digressions, and even a bit of meta commentary as Don Quixote talks about the less successful parts of the first book.

I got Liz Jensen's The Uninvited for Christmas, and I'm tearing through that thing.  It will probably end up as a favorite in my "end of the world/apocalypse fiction category." It's basically about children that all the sudden start killing adults.

This "milk cliff" thing is totally mindboggeling.

Kind of late to the party, but I wanted to recommend a movie I saw this week on Netflix. It's called The Man From Nowhere It's a Korean film by Lee Jeong-beom, and basically it's just "Taken", but done about a hundred times better with that Korean flair that I've come to enjoy so much these past two years.

I liked parts of Charlotte Simmons. I really enjoyed what he wrote about the neroscience classes in the novel. It was a subject I didn't know much about  before I read it, but afterward I read a ton of non-fiction books on the subjects.
