I've always had a soft spot for for this movie. I thought the parts with Carrie Aizley as the EPK interviewer were hilarious - as were the parts with Fred Willard and Jane Jynch. Plus the movie introduced me to the magic that is Nina Conti and Monk.

It surprised me how interesting and intelligent her answers were. Is this really all there was to the interview?

"Pete, it's a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart."

I know this has been mentioned about a dozen times, but you can watch season's 1-6 on Hulu for free. And yet it will cost you $9 a month to watch a full season of Dancing with the stars.

Mr. Miyagi
I'm not sure how many other people are this way, but I had no idea Pat Morita was in Happy Days until years later. For me he was always Mr. Miyagi first and Arnold a far far second.

This was the third episode in a row where the idea of Phil and Claire getting a divorce provided fodder for some kind of comic misunderstanding. I love Modern Family but it seems the writers are returning to this well a lot - unless Phil and Claire really are close to getting a divorce - or at least appear that way to

Don't forget Colleen McCullough's First man of Rome.

Yeah 20 to 30 minutes is about the point I got to before I shut it off. Which was exactly 5 minutes longer than I got to in Fellini's Satyricon.

Fucking Kardashians
It's not enough that you've overtaken my beloved celebrity mags - but now I must also stare at your make-up caked faces on plastic currency?

Jay Leno just called. He wants to be first so we're bumping your post.

I'm going to take a wild guess. The aliens are allergic to skylines?

Bummer dude
Crap. This and True Grit were the only movies I was looking forward to this winter. I got bamboozled by the cool looking trailer. This year has got to be one of the worst on record as far as quality goes. And judging by the trailers I've seen, next year doesn't look too hot either.

Yeah, the soundtrack to Amelie is amazing. I can listen to those songs over and over again.

The cult of Poe
I don't mind Poe and I can appreciated Poe's contribution to American literature, but his fans have to be some of the most annoying people in the world. A girl I work with is a huge Poe fan - as she never gets tired of letting you know - and she brags about how much of a loner she was in high school

True story. In fourth grade some local performance artist came to our school and put on a one man show of the Tell-Tell Heart. I've never forgotten how ridiculous he looked crawling across the carpet, his hands covering his ears and screaming "tear up the planks! — here, here! — it is the beating of his hideous heart."

Fireworks
The guy couldn't "figure out a way to actually rig real fireworks to real people,"?

Yeah, do your homework before buying this game.

My new favorite column
Please keep doing these. It's both informative and funny.

Rio de Janeiro
After watching City of God my initial perception of the slums surrounding Rio de Janeiro was one of thugs running around with guns shooting each other in between robberies and dance parties.

Publik Shools Rok!
I attended a public schools and I'm very much educated. I'm also the owner of a multi thousand dollar candle making business.
