Film/editing nerd in me really liked the stinger/title reveal in that trailer.

The way it moves reminds me of Metalocalypse, specifically how the mass deaths when one of their equipment malfunctions would occur; random characters that where clearly design to simply be the canvas for some gruesome death that appear to be missing a number of frames based on their reaction speed.

The Fifth Element

agreed... that puppet-animation is awful. go with dragons crown style puppet animation or sprite-work... none of this flash animation garbage.... shame. art style looks great.

Tell that to Rome.

You can still make use of offline mode, and backup your games to an external...something you’d have to do no matter what because GoG could die too. Multiplayer games that care about still existing would find some other solution so that you can keep playing.

I’m not a fan either, the character designs aren’t very appealing. I like the concept though.

Art style looks neat. Animation ruins it though. I’ll take a look at the finished product.

The chance of steam going down is about as likely as Santa Clause existing. Steam right now is just too big to fail.

Personally, I really dig the art style. I wish games would take more chances on aesthetic and I’m willing to buy a copy of this solely on the basis of encouraging more adventurous attempts to widening what it means to be “game art”.

I was thinking the same thing, but do you mean the art style, or the way it moves?

Looks like a how it should have ended YouTube video. Gonna be hard to get past the mediocre art style. The concept sounds interesting though.

Just do what I did: Build a multi-Terabyte iSCSI SAN, download all of your games to it, and use it as you main game install drive. Then, if something ever happens to Valve/Steam, you can just play them all in offline mode.

Female protagonist, and the first area of Septerra Core is a junk-filled desert?

If they put it on GoG and it’s reasonably priced I’ll give it a whirl. I think I’m over steam. Something about not being able to play my games if steam goes down upsets the historian/art conservationist in me. What happens if Valve befalls some unpredictable misfortune? Will I be able to play Sonic Lost World if I

Don’t know why but this game reminds me of Septerra Core. Can’t wait!

Now playing

Morning Men is a story-driven RPG set in a desert world full of intrigue, lies, and junk. While it might look like a riff on Mad-Max-style post-apocalyptica, its developers cite movies like The Fifth Element as their primary influences. It’s currently on Steam Greenlight, but it already looks and sounds great.
