Meh, all of that supermarket sushi is flash frozen, which kills parasites. So you can pretty much ship fish anywhere now. The same is true for sushi in NYC.

The fact that porn is your example is truly strange.
Buffets should be extinct. What an insane waste of food.
I had a colleague who spent a year studying abroad in Tokyo, but still claims that a random sushi restaurant in Ohio serves the best sushi he’s ever had.
This is also a guy who tacks on superlatives to everything, so there’s that.
My brother-in-law is the only person I know who has gotten this particular type of food poisoning... He is a physician and he said he knew it was from the Thai he had because apparently the bacteria on room temp rice is one of the few things that will make you sick within a half hour or so.
There's an easy way to prevent this happening. Don't eat at buffets.
That picture totally makes me crave a Chinese restaurant buffet right now.
Right? If you’re getting sushi in Oklahoma, you deserve everything that happens to you after that.
If you’re filing a personal injury lawsuit, waiting until near the end of the statute of limitations will often help maximize your recovery. It’s a lot easier to recover for prior damages (such as medical bills, pain & suffering, etc.) rather than estimating future damages. So waiting two years means she has two…
I’m wondering if it’s really the insurance company wanting to sue. Someone has to pay those hospital bills. Like the 2015 case of an aunt suing an 8yo nephew
I can sympathize a little as years ago, a coworker convinced me to go to a great $5 lunch buffet as opposed to the $15 All you can eat Dim Sum in the same area. The $5 lunch buffet turned out was an all I could barely eat buffet. I would have paid $10 never to eat it. Lesson is, “You get what you paid for.”
I applaud your ability to get an underweight two-year old to eat that meal.
Lots of people who claim to have read “The Wealth of Nations” don’t seem to know that Adam Smith also wrote a book called “The Theory of Moral Sentiments” years earlier which was all about sympathy and empathy. You can’t really claim to have a grasp on Smith without reading it since it deeply informs “The Wealth of…
Ugh my mother is like that. If she sees someone she deems “poor” having a smart phone, she automatically assumes they’re somehow gaming the system and have it better than she does as a middle-class person. I’ve tried to explain over and over that having a smart phone may actually be cheaper if the person uses it for…
Average human walk speed is 3.1 MPH so forget about your ‘normal pace’, you are jogging.
They’re also much easier to carry if you have to take one or more buses to get home from the grocery store (if you are lucky enough to be in proximity of one.)
“just live somewhere else” is not an easy tip for people on limited income
Where am I putting these chicken thighs if I don’t have a fridge? That’s a reality for a LOT of poor folks.
Haha, I also immediately imagined colliding.
@Yoko “Now imagine colliding. Picture the cerise majesty that is your life blood streaming in ribbons from your broken noses, covering the undulating golden sheaves in sanguine glory. Exchange insurance information. Ask the plastic surgeon if he can make you nose twinsies. Realize that had you been wearing your…
