Yes, me too. Is it April first?

Wait... you're really a doctor?
You may be right, and I have no evidence to challenge the "stable loop" idea. I just have this gut feeling that whoever is born last has inherited the most immunities. Especially since penicillin, artificial selection has bred some really nasty little beasties.
I think you'd be far more likely to survive a medieval meal than your dining companions could survive the pathogens you brought back with you.
Thanks for the heads up about TOL. It looks like an interesting site.
@Charlie Jane Anders. No, it's impossible to exceed 1 SMU, just as it's impossible to accelerate past the speed of light. There are theorized movies called tachyflicks that could be spontaneously created with an SMU exceeding 1, but they would need to have imaginary budgets, so as not to violate special relativity.
@Defendant, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "dies in rejection of Christ," but according to Catholic teaching, being Christian is not a requirement for salvation. I realize that many people, including many Catholics, are unaware of this teaching.
Stick with it. I also could not see it on the first few tries. But after a while the reverse direction illusion suddenly surprised me. The impossible rotation of the red cube is also dramatic. Perhaps instead of crossing my eyes (focussing closer), at first I was uncrossing my eyes (focussing farther away).
Wait a second. Did everybody forget SN1987A in one of the magellanic clouds? If I remember my Star Blazers correctly, that's less than two hundred thousand light years, which is much closer than this one. It was even visible with the naked eye if you were lucky enough to live in the southern hemisphere.
