That was my thought too. I work at an automotive OEM, and my team of six (manager +5) is sitting at ~80 years of combined engineering experience.

I’m a big fan of PB Blaster. As par of my I6 head gasket prep, I sprayed the exhaust manifold bolts with it twice a day for a couple days. Didn’t break a single stud (though one backed out of the head, nut attached!) I used it on any of my Volvo 245s undercarriage bolts before I put a wrench on them. Great stuff!

Looks like an extra helping of Clotaire Rapaille’s reptilian brain response.

I feel your pain on trying to get parts. I was stationed in Stuttgart in the 90s, and it was cheaper to have someone ship me a starter for my ‘86 Samurai and eat the core charge than buy one on the economy.

Thank you for this tip!

Mrs. MoreGravelPlease and I watch a lot of BBC/ITV mysteries on Britbox, and we’re getting better about picking up regional accents.

Now the CI melody is in my head. This means something!

If my math is right, it’s about a wash, (though the normal one is technically bigger). The California king is narrower and 6048 sq. inches. The normal one is 6080 sq. inches.

+1 for making your own. I put this one together from an Old Navy purse (green canvas), and a webbed belt. It holds all my metric combo wrenches, x2 10mm wrenches!

The MegaCruiser and the H1/HMMWV look like they share some DNA.

Aww, I miss Captain Murphy. Nice to see his mug on my computer this morning.

Vera, what has become of you?

I saw the Pan America and thought of this:

I think that honor goes to Martin Shkreli, but this guy is definitely #2.

Indeed. This new law only applies in 18/36 counties, mostly in Eastern Oregon.

The folks who operate these trucks are more concerned with ft^3 than aero. OTR on the other hand...
