That is absolutely true. I got a great deal of my education in Halsey, and it took living in Eugene for a few years to make me think about some of the ass backwards things I believed in.

Oregon's cities are more than just Portland, though.

I blame the partisan divide. Oregon's cities are full of people trying to make big changes and get things done, while the countryside is full of people that might as well be fenceposts because they're standing their ground with the opinions their fathers and grandfathers told them to have and change is evil.
