Harvey straight-up raped, blackmailed, and also beat up a lot of people. He’s very unambiguously a criminal, not just a creep.

I’m very confused by how AV club references Fallen Order but doesn’t know that Amidala got reams of character development in Clone Wars.
Trust me, nobody is questioning the number of things you can be simultaneously angry about.
Money. Trans people are making him infamous and helping him get press. He can write jokes about how much trans people hate him that go over even without a punchline. He is weaponizing his troll status for cash. It’s gross, but he couldn’t do it without all the attention.
Imagine the horror of a world without your cancel culture nonsense. All those people who like both Mulaney and Chappelle forced to be happy as a result of a fun surprise while haters had to feel for 15 minutes as though their specific political opinions were not being catered to.
I do not understand why this is a fight. Marvel movies are fun with a side of drama. That’s clearly a valid type of movie. I saw EEAAO and The Northman on their premiers also - there are a lot of good movies of many genres. This is really a nothing issue.
The AV club is very dorkily “woke”. You have to just kind of roll with it.
Ncuti Gatwa is a fantastic choice. Watch him in Sex Education, you can see the perfect mix of humor, pathos, and danger he can bring to a role.
I am perpetually in awe of the way film buffs will talk about referential cinematic shorthand and act impatient when somebody doesn’t know a reference to a Hitchcock shot but somehow when Marvel’s stories are lightly serialized - let’s face it, you can always figure out what is going on in a Marvel movie, it’s not…
Ah, but they ARE above the law. Thus, if everyone in Baltimore were a cop, there would be no crime.
The movies are bad. It isn’t about the politics (which are also bad).
Nobody bought his album or voted for him out of obligation. It’s not about owing.
In a market economy, a CEO who is a genius businessperson but sometimes steals is better than a CEO who is honest and mediocre, comedy is the same.
Because he’s better at it than they are.
Yep. I guess I might listen to his new album, but my experience of his stuff is that it’s just been much worse since the whole fiasco.
I think lots of people care. And I think he faced repercussions. If the only acceptable result is that his life is totally ruined and he can never do comedy again, I think this person does believe in cancel culture.
I look forward to the sequel in which white people with Black ancestors start suing Black people with white ancestors….
Having humans as anything other than supporting characters in a Transformers movie is a bad sign. More robots!
This show is really good. The music is good, the acting is good, the plot is not 100% original but it’s pretty wacky for a Marvel outing. The design and mood of this are just completely different from other Marvel things. I’m excited to see Moon Knight but as a fan I’m already looking forward to how in the world this…
Kamala Khan is a Mary Sue to the exact extent Peter Parker is. Which is to say, she’s a relatable protagonist with a heart of gold who does dumb things and gets in trouble. I find her pretty great.
