I just think his work with Russia is a matter of his life resting on the whims of Putin. It's not a good look, but I treat it like a hostage scenario. 

He didn't run to Russia. He ran to Hong Kong and was transiting Russia when we blocked his passport, stranding him.

I tend to think of Snowden as more of a mixed bag. I get that he ran, but I would too after seeing how the US treats people it wants to interrogate. And his goal wasn’t to end up in Russia, he got stranded there. I have a hard time faulting someone for not going against Putin when he has them in his power.

Manning and Snowden didn’t publish anything. And it’s possible to disentangle them from Assange. Manning is good, Snowden has been both bad and good, Assange is bad.

There’s a big difference between nonsense beliefs that are held by a large part of society while being reinforced by a large international community that dominates media and nonsense beliefs that you dreamed up one day on peyote.
