I’d like to think it’s because people are actually doing math, but I know that’s not true.

The thing that doesn’t match to me is about halfway through the first video when he’s doing a pull from a stop the speed and the pitch just don’t match at all. It’s like an old work truck with no exhaust that’s super loud, but goes nowhere. That high pitch scream just yells “I’m going fast” when the car looks like…
A new Consumer Reports analysis shows that of the 26 states that currently impose EV fees, 11 charge more than the amount owners of similar gas-powered cars pay in gas taxes
The toilet paper question made me laugh. I buy nice paper, my wife prefers something else that is way too thin for me. We got both at Costco. I think it has been two years since I bought my package and I am just now getting to the final rolls, and that’s with recently starting to use it to blow my nose from time to…
I know I’m going to be somewhat disappointed that this won’t really be the same as the original and I’m sure there will be some cheesy stuff added that might annoy me, but I’m also just super onboard to play a game with the same characters in the same universe doing roughly the same thing in a much prettier format.
Had a XKR of similar vintage that was a really nice car, but bored me to death. This would be the better version of that I would really like to have, though I actually prefer the Jag’s looks. I much prefer the engine numbers and manual in the Aston though.
Yeah, I think we’re both more or less agreeing to the same thing. I know in my experience with truck air suspensions that the air pressure supply is effectively fixed, but there is a load leveling valve that will let air in and out to maintain pressure in the bag as it is not necessarily a constant volume, so when it…
Any form of racing can get expensive quick if you let it as well I found out. I did kart racing for a few summers a while back and while it’s certainly cheaper than racing my Viper, if you want to stay out in front and have backup parts when things break you’ve gotta have some cash. I could get by on one ro two sets…
I was actually picturing going down a frame rail compared to going across an axle, but I see what you mean. Now I’m going to have to draw this out to double check my work, lol. My thought was more that if I have that same 1000 lb truck with two axles at 500 lbs each and now I put a third axle directly between the two,…
That’s pretty cool. I only know regular rear air suspension on big trucks with the leveling valve. Neat that you can adjust on the fly and actually tell a difference.
I wonder how well computer could deal with windows. As a human driver I will often look “through” the cars around me if I can/have to to get an idea of what might be coming. I’m not sure how a computer might interpret that data as if they’ve determined that the “thing” next to itself is a car, if it sees something…
Completely agree. I realize it’s also a bit of a dynamic problem as well. Air pressures will fluctuate some and air springs are not constant spring rates.
I guess my point is more that the air pressure in the system is what determines what the axle will take for loading, not necessarily just where it is on the truck, which is what most of the calculators out there seem to do.
Recently, Bugatti went out and did what many thought couldn’t be done with modern tire technology: It broke the 300-mph barrier
I mean, ultimately they do carry the weight, you just have to be careful about how you calculate it. You can’t just take the truck weight and divide by the number of axles, even taking the load center and axle spacings into effect. What you really need is the suspension ratings, not the axle ratings, though that…
I suppose it’s probably built into the axle weight, but one thing that gets me on those calculators is that the airbags are what are really carrying the weight, not exactly the axles. By that I mean if you have a 10,000 lb axle on the truck, but the air bags can only “push” it into the ground with 5,000 lbs of force,…
Rooftops are going to have to get a lot more accessible or they are going to need a lot of designated taxi helipads strategically placed around the city. These things are going to be skating between the skyscrapers of NYC any time soon. Flying a helicopter in that environment isn’t exactly easy by my understanding.
In this time of optimization and ease, navigating to www.finalfantasyxiv.com and downloading Final Fantasy XIV is a no-brainer compared to lugging your body over to GameStop and being eyed by the bored, catty teens smoking menthols outside.
I won’t relay Porsche’s discussion on charging infrastructure
I had the same dilemma when buying long distance cars, but a lot of it comes down to how much you trust the seller. Sounds like the person in the letter is buying from a dealer, so probably a little more confidence there. I bought a Jag out of California (I live in Kansas) and had it shipped because it was going to…
