Yeah, I thought about that a few minutes after I posted. Still 600+ amps to each motor at 600V, but not quite as bad.

I suppose you’re also feeding 4 separate motors, so it’s “only” 625 amps each, but going with liquid cooled cables on your EV is starting to get a fair deal more complex than I think most people would want.
Having bought a Rift when they first came out (commercially, not Kickstarter), you are already quite a bit ahead at least comparatively speaking. Getting the full headset and controllers as they came out put me out $600+ along with a computer to power it. Now you can get the whole bundle for $400, so there’s already…
I don’t know, 1.5 MW at what is a pretty typical 600V nowadays is still 2500 amps. Doesn’t matter how many parallel batteries you have, they still all combine in one cable to feed a motor (or inverter) in almost all cases I have ever seen. The cabling alone to carry that kind of juice is significant.
This isn’t really unique to the Switch though. Didn’t the Xbox One have the same issue? I know at least on controller that came with my Xbox One that the left stick starting drifting. I just bought a new controller and haven’t had an issue since. My brother has a drifting issue with an aftermarket controller he…
You know, that’s actually not a terrible idea for autonomous tech. Highways are fairly well controlled with less variables than in town driving, so seems like a fair use case and limitation. I guess that’s really how most of the systems work, but I’m not sure they actually only limit use to highway routes.
Yeah, it’s so strange. I kinda look back on it with fond memories, but they almost feel borrowed. I know I played the game, though I think I saw it played more or only did sidequest stuff with my friends. There were things about it that I liked when looking back and reading reviews about it, but I don’t think I had…
Yeah, it is pretty interesting how much variety there is in the series for them sharing the same name. Kinda fun to see a series that can “change” so much while still staying similar enough to feel familiar.
They’re really pretty awesome cars and easy to daily. Snow on the roads is pretty much the only thing that will keep mine in the garage. Storage is pretty awful, but it’s fine for grocery trips for just my wife and me.
The tough thing with comparisons like these is the cars can really matter, or more specifically the tire sizes and such. A lot of tire makers have unique compounds for certain cars, even though they use the same names as their other tire series. For instance, you can get a Michelin PS2 (or maybe it was a SuperSport)…
Honestly, I think they might face another challenge. One thing you alluded to is just how practical the car was, at least as far as sports cars go. The C5 was freaking amazing. My parents had a 99 and you could load the thing up with groceries, take highway trips with 30+ mpg, and have fun on a track, all for…
My mom got hers several years back, a red 94 like she always wanted. I thought it was fun to drive and got and 04 myself (since I wanted windows because it was going to be my daily driver). They really aren’t all that expensive if you aren’t looking for pristine examples. Gen 1s and 2s can be had in the 20's and gen…
Excellent example would be the water pump that I just replaced in my wife’s 09 Malibu. Had the car in to the dealership for some transmission work that was covered under a TSB and they mentioned the pump was leaking. I knew the car had a coolant leak and had just replaced the radiator as that seemed to be where it was…
The tire in question is a rather low 35-profile tire, 235/35/20 to be exact. It is yet-lower profile than the 195/40/17 that blew on the VW I was charge with.
I don’t really get the whole weigh in thing. I understand what they are trying to do, but ultimately it should pretty literally be done the second before you step into the ring, not the day or night or whatever before. You could easily put on a few pounds by the time you would actually be fighting, so while it does…
Haha, that’s pretty wild. I think the longer I’m away from it the more I appreciate it and kinda want to play it again. It’s the one I really remember the least because it’s the one I played the least. Not that I’ve necessarily played through many more than once, but I know I’ve seen/played IV a few times with my…
FFIX was a funny one for me. It was one of the last ones I ever played after I got into the series. I started with VII when some new friends told me about it back in junior high and then more or less went through all the old games via emulators back in the day. I played VIII as my brother was a big fan and skipped…
I can’t stand subtitles because I end up watching the subtitles instead of the movie. It’s like my eyes can’t resist looking down to read text instead of the scene at hand. Even when I can fully understand what’s being said I can’t look away.
So, it’s a Ferrari F430 from the front and a Camaro from the back?
