Gearing really doesn’t mean much in the long run though, at least not from a power perspective. It matters more for keeping an engine in its powerband, but ultimately has no bearing on power itself. In a perfectly efficient gearset, no power is lost. Torque gets multiplied, but speed is reduced to keep the ratio even.

The last story is one reason my dad always told me “if you work on the brakes, you test drive the vehicle after”.  Especially if you are doing them for someone else.  Doesn’t matter how many you have done before, you test drive it.  Also, you take it easy when you first test it.  Don’t go hauling down the street like

I’ll have to watch the original movie one of these days.  I saw the remake years ago, but never looked into finding the original.  Kind of like Gone in 60 Seconds.  I have seen parts of that original, though I don’t know that I’ve see the whole thing.

Ah, that would make a little more sense.  I would have thought if the demand was high enough that the “main” truck plant couldn’t match demand that they would keep this one around for overflow, but I can understand that could get expensive if you don’t have other stuff for it to do in the meantime.

It’s a bit surprising to me that GM would be closing a plant that builds trucks with all the trucks and SUV fervor going on right now.  I realize they are looking ahead, but it seems like trucks and America have always been a thing, even in tough gas times.

And this is exactly what I point to whenever someone says “it can’t be that hard” when it comes to building a car.  People will say they can build an EV in their driveway with random motors and batteries so why can’t X big company do it?  This right here.  They can do it, I’ve no doubt of that.  Whether they can do it

I did this on my 71 Vette a while back.  They are like brand new gauges now and look awesome at night.  They worked fine before, but had a more orangely glow.  now the text is a pretty crisp white and the needles really pop.  You also get the added benefit of less power draw, which is great in old cars that didn’t

Two questions:

I think where these are going to be is going to be the big kicker.  Tesla not having dealerships is maybe a blessing and curse for this.  I suppose a Porsche dealership isn’t the worst place to spend some time and get a coffee while you wait, but at the same time I think many people are loathe to go to a dealership if

I’ve got 123,000 on my 04 Viper at the moment without any significant engine problems, and that’s even abusing it at the track once a year.

An animated (lol) Kimi would be something.

OMG, this is the greatest thing I have ever seen.  Where has this been all my life?  I am now going to have to chain watch all of them.  I only wish they actually made a full movie out of that, it would be awesome.

The Viper motors are near indestructible in stock form and even with some power adders. Not everything FCA makes deserves the hate. Plenty of these things go 100k+ with some basic care and maintenance. Any engine is going to break if you abuse it.

It seems like a strange concept to protest people not working by not working yourselves, but I understand how in this particular industry it makes sense and would have a pretty massive impact.

What a world when a 7 billion dollar profit makes people mad. I get that it’s far short of what they were aiming for/projecting/whatever their accountants said, but still, that’s a profitable company, which is more than can be said for any number of others.

Might be all the more reason why she’s stepping away now if she really wants kids.

your international Formula One heist spy thriller novel.

I’m wondering if she wants to start a family.  Probably not that easy to strap into a land rocket if you’re pregnant.  Guessing she could make a return after kids if she wanted, but time will tell.  She was one of my favorite Forces, though I don’t really care for them all that much.  I liked her and Ashley though.

Now that is an excellent idea.  It’s not hot-swappable so to speak as much as just modular design.

I’d love an open parking lot to play in with my car.  The difficulty is tires are way too expensive to use up like that for me.  I guess that might be one reason you see a lot of smaller cars running around compared to factory sports cars like Vettes.
