There really hasn’t been a strut tower brace for a supercharger yet? I find that somewhat hard to believe, but I guess it’s possible. I know there was an aftermarket supercharger package for the gen 5 Vipers that used a special cross brace, though it’s not quite a traditional strut tower brace as the car doesn’t use

What typically makes people sick in VR though is the sense of movement when there isn’t actually any physically. Actually moving while wearing a VR headset might make it less vomit-prone

I’m confused, how/why are they trying to patent a strut tower bracket and front splitters?  Those things exist and have existed for quite some time.  I’m not seeing anything new and different about these.

I wouldn’t really call the season disastrous compared to previous ones. At least they were finally competitive and won some races. That’s better than maybe being the 3rd car on the podium behind Mercedes every once in a while.  It might have been disastrous because they started off well and seemed to lose it some, but

The Jaguar XKR may fit in this lineup well. The Lincoln LS made me think of it because they share an engine family. I had a 2000 that was pretty nice, but the electronics were getting dodgy and the engine hurt some head gaskets. I fixed them myself and it wasn’t too expensive, but still a fair deal of work. The later

I know what you mean about vowing to fix something up and life just kind of getting in the way. I did finally get around to a fairly substantial overhaul of my 71 Vette, which was also my first car. It’s been with me for 17 years now and has seen me wrenching on it all of those years and it’s been entertaining to see

I can say as well that at some point you just get tired of trying to figure out where to put something to make it optimal and it just becomes “where can I fit this stupid thing?”.  I’m in a much smaller design team for industrial trucks and while I do try to keep in mind that sometimes people like to work on things

Let’s put some numbers on this though. I always take issue when people talk about better gas mileage like it’s going to save them thousands of dollars.

Same question here.  I have a feeling it has something to do with rigging matches for rating in some way or another, but that’s just my vague guess.

But the guys with 700+ hp cars say it sounds really great and it’s really fun.  700 hp is just what it can make at most, it can make any number under that as well with a little bit of throttle control and restraint, so it’s like having an extendable willy that can be any size you want up to 12".

While I completely agree with you, the issue is how to sell that.  Numbers are easy to sell because they are quantifiable.  Admittedly those numbers only tell part of the story as how the car does that has a big effect.  Also, a lot of those numbers are just peak and tell even less of the story because of it.  I could

Do that many people really live that far from a brick and mortar store to get stuff they need in a hurry? I guess maybe if you don’t have ready transportation it’s a little different, but as an instant gratification society I’d rather go to a store and buy something today than order it on Amazon and wait a few days to

I can understand why people collect them.  Many are very pretty to look at and the technical details in them are incredibly impressive.  That being said, I would never collect them because I agree it seems like a waste of money.  It’s like someone who has a garage full of cars and never drives them.  I rarely ever

On the one hand I realize a lot of technology comes from Asian markets, so I would expect the electronics to be somewhat reliable.  Then I realize that everyone and their brother in China is making an EV for government money and I doubt that they will be all that reliable...

It’s more just because I had a spare whiteboard than it being purchased specifically for that reason.  I’ve had it since I was a kid and originally put it up in the kitchen in my new house, but wife didn’t care for it and wanted some shelves instead.  Decided to put it out in the garage by the workbench instead so I

Yeah, I guess for me I’d wonder if someone really wants to dig through all that stuff if you sold it.  It’s a strange paradox where you want the receipts for proof, but would probably never actually go through the folder to verify it.

I never thought of doing the odometer with oil changes, that’s not a bad idea.  At least assuming it will go more than 1000 miles, which any new one will.  I typically reset them at fillups to gauge fuel mileage.

I would need a filing cabinet for each car, but that’s because I’ve had them for quite some time as well.  I guess it comes down to how much the next person would care to dig through a folder to look at every receipt.  I don’t care if you replaced a light bulb because it went out.  I also do my own service though, so

For me I have no intention of selling my cars, so it’s never really even been on my radar. Consumable stuff to me is just that, consumable. If a light dies it dies and I’ll get another. It doesn’t matter when I replaced it. If I have to consistently replace something it might raise an eyebrow, but since I tend to keep

I keep track of the last oil change I did, but that’s about it.  I also have pretty much zero intention of ever selling any of my cars, so it’s not really something I’ve worried about.  I figure if they’d made it as long as they have under my care if I ever do have to sell them that it’s a reasonable stamp of
