Wow, that’s a cool setup. Seemed awfully low profile to have motors in the frame itself, so makes sense they would be in the body still.
I would have thought functional wipers would be required to pass, but I guess every state is different.
Right, but are they just carbon fiber appearance or actual carbon fiber? That’s more what my question was. Seems a very odd thing to advertise vs just calling it a decal.
Okay, they have new stuff in the pipeline. What have they done over the past decade before now? Ram and Jeep sell plenty to keep Dodge in the black, but it’s still the whipping boy for “not advancing”. That’s no different that what I see at Ford, but people don’t take shots at them all the time for a “tired…
So, it looks like it has wipers, but I’m not sure I see how they would function. I almost looks like the motors might stay attached to the cockpit, but in the last picture I’m not seeing anything on the leading edge of the window. Why even bother putting them on if they can’t do anything?
Carbon fiber decals? Do they just mean they look like carbon fiber or they are made of it?
And people give Dodge grief for constantly rewarming the Charger and Challenger lineup with new engines. At least something is changing with them in an exciting way. The only thing I know Ford has done lately is aluminum truck parts and the GT.
Right, but the thought would be that autonomous cars would perceive them and act in such a way as to avoid accidents. That or all cars would be autonomous and talk to each other like happy friends. I realize that’s pretty much never going to happen, but that seems to be all anyone every imagines when people talk…
*sarcasm* But I thought autonomous cars were never supposed to crash. Why would you need extra safety tech in them? *end sarcasm*
Ah, that would make quite a bit of sense. I wonder if the simulator is still based on some underlying game architecture.
In what other country though do you have such a wide and diverse variety of people, environment, and the like? You have super dense cities full of young people and incredibly sparse farmland that maybe has a few families to go around. I suppose China is probably similar, but how much does the national government…
Anyone know what simulator they are using? All I can say is if these people have time to model a stillborn F1 layout they have time to model some of the smaller tracks around the country close to me so I can drive them digitally...
Wonder why they don’t use the existing vehicle setup and just have drivers pilot them remotely. I guess if you can’t feel what the car is doing it can be more difficult to control, but seems like an easier way than redesigning the whole car to put someone in it since the whole point was that you could design…
Funny how “Oh, there aren’t women here” suddenly becomes a problem when it may come under scrutiny, isn’t it? Not before that point or anything. Nope.
I forgot my dad has a 93 Stealth I could bring as well, though it’s in a bit rougher shape due to 300,000+ miles.
That’s fair, but it’s still not like an EV makes a flat line of torque through it’s entire rpm band. That was more my point. The Tesla appears to drop torque past 40 mph: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/electric-motor-characteristics-and-curves.88185/. I see this same curve shape on several EV applications,…
That’s not what I’ve seen in EV presentations so far. It’s full torque for most in-town stuff I would say, but falls off for highway stuff. The Tesla only carries full torque out to 40 mph from the look of it: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/electric-motor-characteristics-and-curves.88185/
Yeah, she got hers first which gave me the idea. She’s wanted one since they came out and finally get her dream 94 red RT/10 7 years ago or so. I’ve had mine for about 5 or 6. I was looking at new Challengers to replace my currently daily driver and found I could get a Viper for the same price, so I figured why not?
My dad and I got one of those several years back, but had quite a bit of trouble with it. The grease in the gearbox of the feed roller melted and ran onto the control board, blowing some resistors. We’ve finally fixed that, but the plastic liner for the wire doesn’t let it feed very smoothly unless you have a very…
