I'm mostly following the Guardian and SMH coverage of it, they're both quite restrained. Can't imagine what's going on over at news.com.au right now.

Oh man, what did Sharri Markson do?
I still can't fathom this. The amount of times I've walked right past that cafe...
The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald and the ABC. Hopefully your brother is safe - it looks to just be the immediate area that they're worried about.
I hope everyone's okay on your end. It's so hard to fathom that a mundane Monday morning can turn out like this.
Thank you. I'm lucky because this hasn't affected me, but I love my city so much and it hurts that this is happening to ordinary Sydneysiders who were just going to work, and likely a few tourists. Keeping them all in my thoughts.
It's shocking when it happens in an area you know really well, and a lot of my friends/family work nearby. It's near the law precinct where my dad often works, but I've checked in with him and he's not there.
Will do. At the moment people are being evacuated nearby but nothing much to update.
So this is happening in my hometown right now.
I've found that heeled booties give me better support than my ballet flats, and my Timberlands are the most supportive shoes I own. but I can't wear either of those things in an Australian summer. I feel like I need to wear heels because I am a small person (5'3"), but it just never works out. And sadly gladiator…
Sometimes you can't tell how people will react about this kind of stuff... it's really disappointing.
They were talking about their opportunities to move up, and positions that they might be able to act in sometime soon. So it was positive! And I thought that would be a good moment to share my news.
I'm biased because I'm from Sydney - I don't live there at the moment so every time I go home, I remember how amazing it is. Actually this is making me really homesick!
HELLO I am your friendly local Australian! I can't tell you much about working holiday visas (except I have met SO MANY people on them, mainly from the UK) but can probably answer any other questions. Also: Sydney. Sydney forever. The cost of living in Perth is insanely high so I would only suggest going if you have…
ohhh I just saw my podiatrist this week about plantar fasciitis. she said I can't run any more (noooo) and I can't wear my pretty ballet flats (NOOO).
I have a list of things that will make me say no, including:
that is an amazing movie.
I have a rant (that I can't put anywhere else because the people involved know ALL my social media accounts):
as someone who has danced my whole life, these choreographed wedding dances are usually so fucking woeful and make me vomit a little.
my agency has no money and no christmas party. our divisional christmas party is a fucking picnic. outdoors. limited alcohol. during work hours. I would much rather stay at work. this is a very depressing post.
