Well, here's my reason against that.

I still haven't bought the games because of money issues, but...man oh man. I love Studio Ghibli - Mononoke is probably one of my favorite movies. I'm hoping I'll get it as a Valentine's Day present, because I'd really love to experience it before Bioshock comes.

The poses are almost identical. I'm not saying he's right, but he isn't wrong either. Both only have "armor" on one armor and shoulder, similar hair, similar pose.
Bad art design doesn't mean outdated visuals. For example, Crash and Spyro are great examples of games with good art design, but are outdated graphically.
The story of the game falls into antiquated, clearly racist tropes in particular the "Magical Negro"/"Noble Savage" story trope, which was surprising to even see in a contemporary story.
