Having a CC number stolen that was kept in his home safe? Having an Xbox Live account that was jacked probably using the method explained in the article? I can't comment on the WoW account - who knows in that regard - but the other two sound like fuck ups on the part of the corporations. Stop being a tool and…
I don't know if I'd say I'm a "hardcore" Microsoft fan, but I've always known that Microsoft can fuck up. I absolutely prefer Microsoft to Sony, but anyone with a brain can see that the Red Ring of Death and now this bullshit is inexcusable.
I know you were interested, so I figured I'd write my story up for the curious.
Phone app. It prompts me every time I log on.
I use the mobile phone authenticator, and you are completely incorrect. It works properly with Diablo. Please provide a source for your information if you're going to make claims like that. Blizzard clearly states it works with WoW, Starcraft and Diablo.
You're absolutely right. My point wasn't that Gizmodo made the right choice, just that one category can be weighed differently and can change the outcome.
Doesn't mean anything. The nature of how you share your photos is so important that that category, in and of itself, beats out the other two. It has a weighted importance.
It all depends on where the hacking takes place. Blizzard seems to be putting the blame solely on the user. If it really is an authenticator issue for most people, I'm bothered that Blizzard didn't require the authenticator in the first place.

I'll write up my story a bit later, let me get a response from Blizzard first.
Don't worry, I already have.
I have an authenticator and was using it.
All I know is I logged in this morning and I had no gold. All of it, gone. Over $50,000 at least.
I believe they actually discuss it in the Steve Jobs biography, and it was something that came down to a choice Steve had to make, and he didn't think it would be a problem.
As someone who is pretty impatient, but also extremely clumsy when it comes to crafty projects like, this, I am blown away.
"I have found, written, or received by enlarging the documents onto a new piece of paper and intricately dissecting the negative spaces with an Exact-o knife."
I highly doubt that is an option anymore. They either finish the game and it sells well, or it gets cancelled and they get shut down.
Doesn't change the fact that they released at the wrong time without enough marketing.
Go to a school that offers game design, or work on mods. Either one will help you get on your way.
