As with most things, candy canes are best in miniature. And used to stir hot chocolate with. It's like an Andes in a mug :) Alternately, they can be chopped into small pieces to top said hot chocolate and then stirred in with the whipped cream (which is also the only acceptable way to consume whipped cream).
