I haven’t seen all the films it’s up against, but Dunkirk’s directing, editing, sound, and visual effects were all award-worthy.

Does this mean Sufjan is going to perform at the ceremony?! This makes me so happy.

Give Sufjan his fucking Oscar.

Only one I’m really pulling for is Deakins for best cinematography.

So I know you probably mean well, but this kind of negative comment to something so powerful comes off as concern trolling of the highest order. Maybe don’t cheapen someone’s words by saying “Oh, I love it, but I hope others don’t use it to say a shitty thing I’m about to say.”

Sorry to break it to you... *Kenan

It’s not quite the same, though. Tina Fey was effectively saying “don’t do anything” — what you do doesn’t matter. Jessica Chastain’s bit was more a statement of personal despair — what happens to Trump doesn’t matter. If anything, this bit was about not giving in to despair. The other cast members finished by giving

“Keenan will leave. But Bernard will stay.”

Not a mention to the funniest joke of the night and the only time me and my girlfriend really laughed a lot, Kennan saying “some of us relish the opportunity to ‘become Bernard.’”

If you’re going to a 40+ year old late night comedy show looking for a “path of action” probably best to reevaluate your priorities.

It Follows is a great example. Slow monster horror film with a psychological horror vibe that earned a cult following almost after release, yet because it’s highly divisive and you either love it or hate it, its rating sits in the middle while the movie itself is far from avarage but because of that a lot of people

no this character is confused and fucked up due to stress. Tina Fey checked out of the whole deal to eat cake.. due to stress. not exactly the same.

she was able to (pretend to) check out due to exhaustion because you can afford to do that when you have less at stake then people of color in a Trump world.

Everything about What Even Matters Anymore? was fucking fantastic, right down to Jessica popping open a bottle of wine with her mouth and chugging it down in depression. If only it weren’t all so painfully true.

Vlogger. She reached out to see if he was interested in a pretty conventional promo deal, and Hotel Owner flew off the handle for no reason I can discern. If he wasn’t interested, a polite “No” or even just ignoring the letter would have sufficed.

The meteor

91% of Americans drive somewhere every day, so you are indeed telling pretty much everyone in this country not to drink.

I retrospect, I’m sure Bradley feels the same way. It’s been 6 years so I forget what his BAC was but I know it was below .08 (that’s what stuck with me most about his story) so we’re talking ... maybe 2 glasses of wine for an adult male? If you’ve never been through the bullshit; that would pretty much register as

Um. This shows a clear misunderstanding of how people consume alcohol, and how alcohol is processed by the body. Many people have a drink every day - these are healthy people. Your proposal would limit the safe driving of millions of Americans, I have no doubt.

It’s so easy peasy because it’s not feasible or practical. You had a glass of wine with dinner last night so you can’t drive to work the next morning? Get real.
