I don’t know why, but I never enjoy the “freak out-as-joke” thing - it just feels like latter-season Parks and Rec, or The Office, where people are more cartoon/caricature than human. Or, like, a performer truly believing “Hah! This is Very Funny!” when they’re acting At you.

I hate that whenever I see a new indie or indie-ish game I think I’ll actually like, I have to check various sources to see if it’s Not “procedurally generated” (Give me level design, or give me...well, nothing I guess)

Watched the first episode - this seems like a pretty great modern dark comedy, showcasing Very flawed people, and ‘edgy’ humor - really reminds me of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and they Really have showcased some horrible self-destructive behavior, all the time.

Man, I really wish I felt that/something other than “Ugh”. I tried watching most of the video - all I got out of it was, “the most expensive boast rap, got it”

Kiki’s Delivery Service is great and one of the ‘lighter’ films - I think people will suggest My Neighbor Totoro, which might be more emblematic of his works? But definitely a slower/’weirder’ movie...I would suggest that for the second one

That’s kind of exactly why I dismissed this movie - when a friend had a copy and I was like, “Eh, I’ve never actually seen that”, she was shocked. I didn’t realize why she had such a big reaction until hearing the opening score (see: my username).
