I also thought most of what Jon Stewart did in these segments was kind of weak (especially when he seemingly so easily captured the obvious outrage and exhaustion about our current presidential candidates, the state of everything, etc, every Other week)

I assume it seemed impossible in the moment, and they wanted to stop the ongoing abuse…
