“Not everything” you say, yet folks like you seem to pop up anytime anything dares include representation.

I’m a white, cis, straight man. I’m also terminally ill and physically disabled. So, when I see a character in media who has a disability, but they aren’t marginalized or patronized for it, I do feel good about it. You don’t see much of it. So I understand where people are coming from.

So, by that mindset, all heroes should be white men? Neutral human isn’t white protestant male, as much as Stephen Colbert would have you believe. Seeing people who look like you matters, even in video games.

You seem to have pretty poor reading comprehension. I’ll try again.

I was waiting for comments like this. When you live in a world where everything is catered to you, its hard to see why representation matters so much. Just shut up and let us have our gay character...

Can you imagine being the crook in that scenario. Here’s Superman, who the whole city is very familiar with, getting tossed like a ragdoll.

It’s just further proof that Bruce Timm and Paul Dini should be in charge of the DCEU since they already built a shared universe with the DCAU. Sadly WB won’t do that because they see those two as nothing more then animators.

Well, that was a pretty solid episode. Just the right amount of story - it didnt feel like a two parter crammed into one part, we got some good character development, found out that Walkers are apparently sealed against space. And are they setting up Agent Kallus for a Heel/Face turn? Looks that way.

There’s a pretty solid crossover called Hearts of Darkness that teamed up Wolverine, Punisher, and Ghost Rider (Ketch) that actually worked real well, specifically because it had guys that made sense to put together like that. Had Howard Mackie as the writer with Romita Jr. as the artist.

It’s a massive, MASSIVE flaw that Spider-Man would let him just walk away in the early days, because the Punisher would use “mercy bullets” around him. So long as he didn’t murder people in front of him, Spidey was apparently cool with it. The cherry on top is, unlike Daredevil, The Punisher is no match for

I always thought it was weird that Marvel entertained Spider-Man and the Punisher teaming up, especially when the former would be definitely against the latter’s methods. At least with Daredevil you actually get a discussion about each others methods.

Yeah, I am glad we didn’t get a “dumb hick” Cannonball! Yes, he was a coal miner from Kentucky...but he has always been the moral center of the New Mutants! Having an accent isn’t an issue, but PLEASE FOX, if you put Cannonball in a movie, DO NOT make him a “dumb hick”!

RE: Cannonball....

So “R, like Deadpool” is the new “dark and gritty, like Batman”.

If the R rating worked wonders for one movie it will do the same for all the rest I’m sure. coming up with a good script has nothing to do with it.

There was a family with a 10 year old kid in the theater when I went on Saturday. They got up and left after the gratuitous sex bit. Somebody didn’t tell them what they were getting into.

The general consensus I got from people I trust was that it was ‘fun’, but nobody I really know was singing it’s praises to the heavens

So as a follow up: What do you suppose made Deadpool a runaway success?

I only ask because most reviews of the film, while calling it a lot of fun weren’t heralding it as a massive, breakout success or anything, just that it more or less got its premise and ran with it. The general consensus I got from people I trust

I have a poorly thought out conspiracy theory that they stole their RPG engine off of Troika and have been using it ever since.

David Willis of Shortpacked! has the best response to this kind of thinking -
