Having gone through some pretty humiliating moments myself, I wouldn’t agree with your read at all. Based on the reaction here, I think the overwhelming majority of others wouldn’t agree either.

Seriously. This whole article is feigned outrage. I loved that this happened and that Moonlight won, but the La La Land folks handled it well and I wouldn’t wish how they must’ve felt in that moment on anyone. The writer of this article is a hack but that’s what it takes to pay the bills these days.
Apparently the two card-holders didn’t sync their sets.
I guess because he old man shuffled back to the mic and tried to explain it? Meanwhile, Dunaway was already in her limo with a stiff martini and a cigarette.
There’s already an outstanding story here, and have to go out of your way to create drama where there was none? Dude handled it with class, Moonlight people were graceful, everybody was happy. Your language here is misleading at best :/
I find it’s been worse the last couple years. Maybe I’m just growing up.
Seriously.
I loved Moonlight. I loved La La Land. They don’t need to fight now that Moonlight has won. The spite in this article is a damn shame.
Apparently, there are always two sets of cards that are kept on opposite sides of the page.
“Moonlight: Best Picture,” spat Horowitz.
moonlight was a beautiful and moving film, la la land was dazzling and wonderful. both films were absolutely amazing - can we not just like both? I don’t get the hate from jezebel. loving la la land doesn’t diminish my wonder after seeing moonlight. I’m happy for moonlight, and sad for la la land. to me, they’re both…
Horowitz handled it not just with grace, but authority and he corrected the situation as quickly and calmly as it could have been handled. He didn’t “spit” and saying it was “kind” of him to give Moonlight their award is nasty and shitty.

For the utter shit show this was, I thought the La La Land producers handled things very well. Let’s not SHIT on them for a mistake that wasn’t their fault, okay?
Yeah, I thought the Lala Land producers handled it with exceptional grace. They took it on themselves to announce that they hadn’t won, quickly got out the message that Moonlight had won, and tried to reassure the Moonlight team that this was all real and they should get up on stage. Like that’s a lot of crazy in…

Marisa Tomei probably feels vindicated right now. This proves that if the wrong name is announced by mistake, they will correct it swiftly and everyone will look embarrassed.
The actor is survived by his family and Bill Pullman.
I feel uncomfortable with a male writer on the Jezebel staff being so relentlessly bitchy about a famous woman. It seems highly inappropriate and given the reception I would think I’m not alone in this. I’d ask you to consider the context of your writing space and audience and maybe lay down the pen on woman hating…
