You can’t just leave it at that...

I’m with you, but I also fast-forwarded through the tourist stunt, so *my* Academy Awards was just about stupidity-free.

These are not some mid-level randos. Both are PWC partners, and Cullinan also chairs PWC’s board. They are both very senior, and are not strangers to spotlight - they co-lead the Oscar Ballot practice as PWC, and annually do quite a bit of press in the run-up to the Oscars.

When you say “dating,” do you mean, ahem, “pussy-grabbing”? Are Trump Singles required to be married but willing to cheat on spouses?

Worked for Reagan.

I’m sure Kislyak will enjoy being described as “gossipy.”

Hoping to stem the momentum for an independent counsel, probably.

He may be implying that, even though he was a surrogate for the campaign, he met with Kislyak in his capacity as a U.S. senator. That’s some mighty hair-splitting, of course.

To be fair, Ted Cruz’s response is completely in line with Cruz endorsing and campaigning for someone who accused Cruz’s father of being part of a conspiracy to assassinate a US president and called Cruz’s wife ugly.

I’m not good w/ dialogue. Or writing, full stop. But that does look like Trump’s about to pick Tillerson’s nose.

If you don’t mind me asking, why are you referring to Seneca as Sennaca? (Genuinely curios as to whether there’s a different standard spelling out there.)

I think the issue is not the extent to which the portrayal of violence in Gibson films is realistic, but his palpable enjoyment of the violence of his films.

And frequently, the tanks, bullets, and planes are not the ones that the military needs or wants, but the ones that are made in the districts of the most persuasive congresspeople.

And, in that vein, you’d think the media could focus on the proposed budget! But no.

Is that because the domino theory was so popular or because the faith in government was, broadly speaking, undiminished?

You know, this acceptance of Tomatoface as a mildly irksome but harmless feature of the landscape might finally drive him/her/them away...

As someone who’s been here pre-Kinja (#omgwhystillgrey), I find Tomatoface fascinating and inspiring - like, if I can only motivate myself to put as much effort into, say, exercise, or guitar, I might really improve!

Umayyad, darnit. Ugh, typos.

Out of curiosity, why would the one-drop rule apply to the Spanish? (Given the one-drop rule’s focus on sub-Saharan Africa, I assume it has nothing to do with the Umayyade dominion over the Iberian peninsula.)
