1. For flying: Hipmunk (to compare and contrast with Kayak)

Have used Caviar (initially, just the one free delivery trial; then was thrilled when the delivery price dropped). Caviar [for me] is massively superior to Seamless - Seamless has very limited delivery for my part of town, whereas Caviar will deliver with no problem, and Caviar has a much better selection.

A Gwynneth tip revolutionised my gazpacho: a suggestion from one of her cookbooks (passed on by a friend) to roast peppers over an open flame. Makes a lovely, subtle taste difference and is dead quick to implement. So, you know. Maybe this cookbook will also have something on point.

You may want to look into the history of Jews in France and / or revise your post. Joan of Arc’s entire lifespan happens to take place after Jews were expelled from France in 1394.

Couldn't agree more. The Imitation Game and Theory of Everything are both fairly pedestrian Oscar bait.

It's a self-homage, isn't it? The originals are by Jean-Paul Goude, and so are these photos.

Geek Love is everything. I keep wondering why nobody has optioned it (or if they have, why they're sitting on the rights).

Maybe "most recognizable tunes"? Since most of them aren't songs...

Eh, not really - both John Paul II and Benedict were pretty clear on evolution being compatible with Catholic principles. Creationists (US creationists, at any rate) run with a different crowd.

The DA bakery is trying to protect their trademark from going generic. Several of the brands Rounds mentions have done the very same thing.

This is a trademark violation though.

Osborne *is* a total buffoon. He shouldn't be chancellor of his local glee club, let alone chancellor of the exchequer. :(

Ah, New York Times. Every time I think, "Despite Douthat, I should maybe pay for a digital subscription," you do something to remind me that I shouldn't. Thanks for the savings! I'll use them towards brunch.

Also a nice reminder of a fantastic Best Acress year, and of the fact that Nicholas Cage won Best Actor the prior year. Nicholas, what happened?!

Her talent as a designer is inversely proportional to her talent as a singer. Her clothes are great.

Wait, Claudia Cardinale is in this too? Even more exciting.

Which, incidentally, costars Aidan Turner. All the thumbs up.

Haaaaaated it. I no longer remember why, exactly, but the memory of the hatred keeps me from rewatching it.

Do or do not. There is no try.

Prooves nothing. I hated Vicky, Christina and Matchpoint, but place the blame squarely on Woody. The actor-director stars do have to align, and nobody is immune from disaster: see Meryl in August: Osage County.
