Correct. Using a camera is cheaper and safer. It can also stay under for longer without the need for long decompressions. Also, an insight from the team was there’s populations of white pointers in those waters so the last thing you want to be doing is waiting at X meters for Y minutes. (source: one of the project

As a kid i made on of these in South Australia, and we’d be towed behind a sail boat. It was particularly lovely, breathing through a “hookah” breathing apparatus, flying over the sea floor.
