If I didn't shell out for it in the theater, what makes you think that forcing me to wait another 28 days is going to coerce me into buying it on DVD or blu-ray. But here the thing, it's not the original cost of the game I'm speaking to, my point is that you purchased that game and everything on it, that includes the multiplayer component. It should be yours to sell along with the rest of the game. To make it single use is a crap tactic, right up there with on-disc DLC.
