This is terrible... and typical lol. It also sadly shows how financially illiterate most Americans are. We simply don’t teach some of these really useful things in schools. Most people don’t understand how leasing works either, they either think it’s a terrible waste of money, (which it can be or can actually be

It was also caused by pumping significant amounts of free money into the system. If they didn’t support anyone during Covid, we would have had massive deflation, and recession. Which they tried to get around with both giving out money and low interest rates. This lead to continued strong consumer spending during this

You put it in the wrong place. You could put it at the border to mexico and convince Republicans to fund it as a border moat.

I agree with you, but since he already lives in the US and probably will not move, it’s kind of a moot point. I’ve lived in Japan and public transportation is amazing there. But to get from what we have here to there won’t happen in this guy’s lifetime lol. We can’t even get congress to not shut down the government

There are probably thousands of better options than what he picked though. City design aside, there are much more practical ways of dealing with this. Alot of this seems like “wants” vs “needs”. a 20k BMW? Sounds like a bad idea already. A dodge charger? also sounds like a bad idea period.

For a while in May to July Costco was offering 2000$ cash for the C40. So I had 2000$ costco cash + 7500$ Lease cash from Volvo + 9% off MSRP (5500$) + 500$ medical discount for about 15500 off 62000 = 46500. Residual is 33200 so 13,300 /36 months + interest = 445$ a month. Oh, and no sales tax on leases or purchases

I have a 2023 C40, it definitely does not feel like a 62k car. Luckily due to incentives, I can deal with the shortcomings. I pay 440 a month for my lease and that’s super reasonable. But at full price, I’d get a different car.

Seems like a narrow assessment, I mean if we exclude chinese car makers, which I think at least 3 are less than 60 years old and are profitable. But even if we were to only count western companies, there’s Rimac, which apparently is highly profitable, unless we also don’t count companies that make hyper-cars.

I can honestly say I would not have gotten an EV if I had not gotten a PHEV first. There was significant apprehension about range and charging, and I didn’t used to have a garage. But after a few months of PHEV ownership and realizing I only filled the tank every 3 months simply because I wanted to switch out old

Holy crap that is bad lol. The C40 I picked up on a 36 month lease is 440$ a month at 60k MSRP - 5,400 dealer discount - 7500 lease cash - 2500$ costco cash and 500$ medical. The XC40 is basically the same car but a little more practical. But for 1/2 the price, I’ll deal with a bit of impractical.

It’s probably not as useful to compare the prices in this way for leasing. It’s really more comparable if you plan on buying the vehicle.

Opposite of what we expect... They’re building a pickup truck?

Yeah surprisingly, I’ve had the owner of a restaurant chase me out the door to ask about it. (he ended up picking one up to for an even better deal at the time) and the other day in a parking lot, someone pulled over just to ask me about it lol. That being said I have never seen another one in the wild yet. (other

I like it. It’s what convinced me I could do an EV for the second car.

Yeah, my other car is a Q5 PHEV, But I got screwed on my order not arriving until Dec 2022 after ordering 5 months prior so I had to buy it to get the tax credit. Only got 6% off MSRP, but at that time people were charging more than MSRP

And the funny part is I picked up a Volvo C40 electric in May (which is for all intents an purposes very similar to a Polestar 2) For a 60k car, with 0 down, it’s 440$ a month because of the 10% off MSRP, 7500$ lease cash and 2500$ costco cash and 500$ medical benefit. Had I waited until now it would be just around

Also, do not use your debit card for international travel. With a credit card, you can just dispute the charge and they will fight the company. (plus for most people if they tried to do a 30000$ charge, it would be declined, even with travel notifications.)

To be exclusively using this for 8 years and “not know it was against all the airlines terms and conditions” seems like a huge stretch. The dad knew the practice was frowned upon. Also the ticketing agents usually don’t care where your ID is from. Most likely the agent probably made an off comment about visiting New

They pioneered a trap that eliminates billionaires that they will step into on their own volition.

The other issue is just getting used to the idea. I first got an Audi PHEV, and after a few months got so used to the plugging in and EV modes, I ended up getting a full EV as well. But I would have never considered it until I had lived with a plug in hybrid for a few months first.
