I mean they fixed a massive sinkhole in less than a week, and that was 1 day more than they projected it would take.

Even in your scenario, it would actually work pretty easy. I was rather hesitant until I got my first PHEV in December of 2022, I drove it for 5 months and realized I managed to only get gas 1 time, and that was because I put it into sport mode one week for the whole time to burn down the gas so I could put fresh gas…
I wanted to get one, but I can’t find one in stock and dealers tell me that they have no way to order more since GM is stopping production... the new EVs from GM will be carplay free... and have GM’s new amazeballs infotainment that I should totally trust won’t be a smoking pile of crap, so I gave up and leased a…
I think this is the issue, in terms of cost. ie to make tooling and order the parts for the interior to RHD, it would take a new wiring harness, new dash components and a bunch of stuff molded, which would probably cost Tesla a few million to do. Where the Model 3 and Y sell enough to make that back, I bet they looked…
I’m going to say it probably won’t be missed much. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems solidly in the non memorable car category. I mean that in the sense that I think many other cars leave a lasting impression on their owners long after they have moved on, but I don’t get the feeling this car had that special magic. I…
It can easily make alot of sense depending on how you structure it and how you do things.
I was worried so I put fuel stabilizer in my tank. I’ve used 19% of the tank in the last 1000 or so miles. I was worried before I did that though, so I forcibly used up my last tank of gas after 3 months and filled it with fresh fuel to add stabilizer to.
I understand what you are saying, but It’s kinda hard to incorporate imo. I mean at 240v, My charging efficiency goes between 93-96% but on 120v it’s definitely less. And it might come down to your charger as well as the car. But I do believe the manufacturer should publish this information too.
I think you’re right, ideally it would have a 20 degree F mixed driving MpKwh and a 80 degree MpKwh. Kind of the worst and best estimates you will get.
We need to drop this MPGe crap for something that actually makes sense for EVs... Like MpKwh. ie how far does 1 Kwh take you? We do gasoline cars the same way, how many miles does 1 gallon of fuel take you? and then you can multiply by the size of the gas tank to know your range. We can multiply MpKwh by battery size…
Exactly, Every time I see one of these Crap on PHEV articles it’s kinda maddening. I just got my first one in December and it’s almost a perfect fit. It only has ~25 miles range EV realistically in colder weather, but that’s enough for my daily round trip commute. I use gas on those days I end up driving long…
Is there a reason why this particular EV needs an 8 speed transmission? If it was a PHEV I’d get it for the gas engine, but that many gears for an electric motor seems like overkill with limited additional benefit. But if you are just dropping an electric motor in for the gas engine and not making any other changes, I…
They should make a new Tesla antitheft mode. Locks doors and won’t allow you to unlock from the inside, continuously flashes horns and lights, doesn’t drive anywhere and turns up the heat to 115 degrees, while dialing 911 and giving location of the car.
This one will have all the advantages of Fiat’s legendary Reliability.
I learned all this the hard way in my first month of PHEV ownership in Dec. I have no less than 7 apps for charging the car, and I’ve gone to “phantom” charging stations that aren’t up yet. This isn’t ready for prime time yet, because there’s Zero chance my mom would know what to do, how to charge or find alternative…
Yeah that range drop when cold is real lol. The PHEV only gets 22-24 miles on battery when cold, but like 30-36 when it’s not freezing lol. The Level 2 charger at home was a huge deal. I had basically driven the last 1k miles on 93% EV mode and 7% Gas mode. Luckily I do have a heat pump. Like I said, I think the well…
I disagree with the idea that it’s for people who don’t own EVs, but that’s because I think range anxiety is a psychological issue lol. I went from a normal ICE to a PHEV 3 months ago, and I thought before hand, why would I care about battery range, I can just use the ICE lol. Little did I know I would start watching…
It can still be fun lol.
Large rims and Low profile tires. Somehow it always is part of higher trim packages. After dealing with 5 replacement tires on my GTI, I vowed to have the largest tire and smallest rim as possible on all my future cars.
I agree that it’s not “Dangerously Slow” lol. That’s just pure hyperbolic nonsense, but I do have to say that if you drove the car before and it behaved a certain way, and a software update drastically changed the way it behaved, then it could cause issues or accident because the same car behaves in a drastically…
