Was that feature really that big of a deal? I thought the coop would be mostly just for goofing off but I can't tell if people are really upset about it not being there or if they're hating just because internet people like to hate.

Capcom was SO close with Lost Planet 2, and I think they realize that. The idea is solid. Giant ass monsters, great coop, giant mechs.

FFXI was brutal.... HMNM camping all day. Macro spamming all the live long day.

I believe the purpose of this is to also encourage buying it new. Letting customers wait and decide to buy it later is a higher chance that they'll just buy it used.

I'm not so sure. There are several games where the timelines were so short that it severely hampered the quality/quantity of the game. Soul Calibur 5 being the freshest on my mind.
