I’ve never thought about it before, but it’s kinda weird that our moon doesn’t have a proper name. The moons of other planets all have names, right? So why is ours just called “moon” or “the moon”?

So, several orbits of both Earth and Moon, transit to and from, we’re looking at about 471,388 miles. And at the standard mileage rate of $0.10 per mile, that means each of the astronauts should have been paid $47,138.80 for the trip (minus any stops they made for gas, food or lodging, of course)...

People complain about massive amounts of government paperwork, but it is that same paperwork which helps inform things like congressional legislation and major supreme court decisions decades later. Sure, some of it, like this, sounds pointless, but documenting everything that goes on in the government is a good thing.
