I understand what you are saying however. The spike strip appears to be the catalyst to the lose of control.

Its entirely up to personal preferences and values. However I am now picturing someone with a 20-something Volvo at a car show lecturing the 80's/90's import scene on safety and used car economics. It has to be up there with the Tesla crowd showing off their frunks.
