Agreed. This isn’t exclusive to Prius commercials; it’s just where the market and modern music are right now, for better or worse.

People have figured out the scam of the manufacturers charging extra for there exciting colors, only to have the dealers tell them the color won’t sell and is worth less at trade in time.

That would be great if dealers stocked anything with color. Unless you go through the special order rigamarole, this is what you get.

Koenigsegg has very few suppliers with which it has to worry about exclusivity. They are so small that they can produce most of their parts in-house which is extremely rare for large manufacturers of anything.

Exactly. They worked themselves out of relevance over many decades. Just because they are making legitimately awesome cars now doesn’t necessarily erase the bad taste many (me!) have.
