Pulling the A/C was a pretty common Turbo Dodge mod. It didn’t work well and if you’re anywhere outside the south you don’t need it anyway.

The closest they’ve ever gotten to that was offering the 400 c.i. V8 (in F-100s and F-150s) and the 460 (in F-150s) on RCSB and RCLBs in the ‘70s.

Ram, Ford, and Toyota do. GM doesn’t, but then, it doesn’t put the 6.2 in the Double or Crew Cab pickups either unless they’re a higher trim level.

GM was in the process of buying out Isuzu when the bankruptcy happened. They were almost there with ownership shares and were producing the Kodiak trucks, these cabovers, and the vortec engines out of the deal. GM dumped all shares during bankruptcy and these trucks went bye bye.

Balance is a really underrated thing in modern cars. Take the Hellcat, for example. I’m glad it exists, it’s insane and wild and ridiculous, but I have always preferred the 485 HP Scat Pack models instead. That’s still a ton of power, but for that size and weight it’s perfect enough to be fast and usable.
