Nurburgring times are meaningless because it is very easy for a manufacturer to cheat. Since there is no outside verification, this car could be very far from stock, running slicks, higher power, any number of things, without any form of regulation/

I love the V10 engines, but I’m really not a fan f the V8 noise. I much prefer these V6's to it, as the V8 to me just sounds one note and plain. Sure they were loud, but I never experienced that in person.
The supercups as a whole pack were louder than one F1 car, but as a group the F1 cars were louder.
the seasons depend (i think), on the eccentricity (shape) of the orbit, and inclination of the body. Those factors vary the distance of the star from a part of the surface, thus changing the climate. This is why the seasons are reversed in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. In the summer, Earth is tilted towards…
that is just not true at all. If it was based only on mass, asteroids and pluto would orbit much closer to the sun, or mercury would orbit much farther away. Orbits come from the velocity of the object, and the higher the velocity, the closer the orbit, for the most part.
I would have to agree with you on this, I hit around 2.5 g’s in my TaG, which is beyond what I can physically do for the 10-12 minutes of the races.
while the speeds involved in karting are far less, my kart will still hit more than 2.5 g’s in several corners around the track. During a 15 lap race, in a hard fiberglass seat that doesn’t fit all that well, it can get pretty painful in the ribs. I can’t imagine doing hours at 3+ g’s like in IndyCar
As other people have said, I have a hard time believing this put a hurt on a go pro. While not quite as much g force, my go pro has survived hundreds of laps in my kart, which pulls around 2.5 g’s multiple times per lap. While sure, 5g’s is a lot more, I highly doubt 3 minutes of it would be enough to damage a go pro.
this will not be a track focused car. It is a car designed to go down a drag strip quickly, and nothing else, and will probably corner terribly.
it would be nothing short of literally impossible. While the chiron is not a good example of how powerful you can make an engine, due to it’s low specific output, but 2576 lb/ft of torque in anything short of a top fuel dragster is simply not possible.
Can someone explain to me why this car is so hyped? The only number that tops its class is the top speed, the rest is worse than a mclaren 675 lt while being equally exclusive. Is it loved because it’s an american supercar? Is it because it looks different?
my bet is that williams will pick up wehrlein in a year or two once stroll have some experience, and massa retires again
Jenson wants out of F1. All his interviews in Abu Dhabi had him talking about how happy he was to be done with it. There is no way he’s coming back.
I think wehrlein is better than you’re giving him credit for. He raced his way into the points in a manor, and was the only manor driver of the 3 to get the car into q2, and did it on several occassions. He is quicker than ocon, and possibly bottas. The only problem with him at mercedes is the pressure, but hamilton…
Alonso wants another title, and that is not really something mercedes can offer him as long as hamilton is there. I’m not saying hamilton is better than alonso, but he is very familiar with the car and the team, and mercedes would probably favor hamilton as well.
that’s old news by now, it was announced this morning and there was another article talking about it
i don’t think he was saying rosberg would be disqualified for doing donuts, but instead for parking his car on the front straight instead of in parc ferme. Hamilton got a reprimand earlier this year for reversing like 6 inches in the pits, so Hobbs was just saying rosberg should be careful
I’m not sure using hydrogen to make hydrogen is the best idea, unless you can generate enough power from fusion that you are producing excess hydrogen and still producing lots of electricity
most likely Wehrlein. He’s tested for mercedes, and has a (i think) contract directly to them. He (again i think) went to Manor as part of their engine contract. Also, he does not have a confirmed 2017 seat, so is the most logical move.
Monaco was different, in my opinion. they weren’t leading the race (or at least i don’t think they were), and both of them were pushing, but rosberg was slow and had problems, so they let hamilton to go chase down ricciardo for the win. It was, however, several months ago, and i am a hamilton fan, so my memory might…
