But are they still expected to work from home? I feel like technology has prevented anyway from actually getting a true day off. For example, I did not go to work today because it snowed 8 inches overnight here, the snow plow has not come to my area, and I have a dinky car (husband took the AWD). I am still working.

Welcome to the real world, kids. Nobody gets a break in the age of technology. I love how the one kid exaggerates and pretends like a hoax terror threat somehow equates to “we probably dying.”

Yeah, I hear that.

I don’t disagree. But I generally don’t expect lengthy, in-depth articles from a blog trying to report on breaking stories.

The last story, about the woman bathing in rainwater, is about Detroit. I think the story covers both towns.

Yep, I too am a lawyer, which is why I said it. In addition, as you know, the defense to defamation is truth. I love that these women now get free reign to prove that he raped them.

You know what else counter suits do? Open you up to all sorts of new lines of questioning and document requests. I love that he did this. His life is going to be an open book. His lawyer will have very little argument to make that certain topics are off limits or irrelevant given that he is now making the same claims.

Yeah, I agree that that clause will apply to certain properties on airbnb. But there are a lot of homes for rent on that website that have less than five rooms and are occupied by the owner at one point or another. Although, I’m not sure if you can claim a summer home as your “residence”, so maybe the exception won’t

Doubt it. I would be really surprised if the SC ever said that a private party renting out their house is subject to the civil rights act. But, maybe. Have you seen a case on the issue?

No, there are not ways for Airbnb to fix this. People can legally discriminate against others renting out their private property. The only way for airbnb to avoid this is to actually kick property owners off the website if it believes they are discriminating. Which is completely fine, but also kind of moots the point

The “smell of nature” is often cow poop in my area.

Yep. I understand that. I probably should have made that more clear, but that’s why I used the term “condones” as opposed to doesn’t punish its own soldiers. The point I’m trying to make is that the US Military promotes this concept of “turning a blind eye” and acts surprised when people actually do it.

The military promotes this sort of group mentality, where you don’t rat on fellow members. Even though the statement of McGarity is pretty chickenshit, I also think he’s probably right. There are plenty of stories where people in the military who turn in others end up either getting discharged or “accidentally” killed

Yeah, I think that totally makes sense. I am not in any way blaming her if she didn’t. I just cringe at thinking the rapist was left in a room with a passed out woman.

Please tell me that she immediately called somebody so that her friend was not left sleeping in an apartment with a rapist? I mean, I’m not going to blame her for getting out of there after being unable to wake her friend. But I hope her friend also got out of there quickly.

I find that weird. I mean the guy is clearly an asshole. There is a lot of evidence of that. I am not going to automatically believe he beats women, because there is not a lot of evidence of that, but I also would not automatically assume his ex wife is lying.

Yeah, I realize that she understands that college debt is an issue. But I hope she also understands that her plan to solve the problem is never going to be approved, particularly by the republicans. So while it’s great that she knows there’s an issue, it’s pretty crappy of her to act as if everyone has to go to

Huh. I give anyone accused of a crime the benefit of the doubt, unless there is overwhelming evidence against them. Maybe it’s because I’m a lawyer. Do you think they are doing it because there is literally no evidence against him, other than a contentious court filing, or because he is Bill Murray?

Yes, go sell your soul to the government and come out with $50,000 in student loans and be completely unemployable because your area of expertise just isn’t hiring. She should not be encouraging people to go to college simply for the sake of “filling your head with knowledge.” That’s not going to pay the bills. Trade

I’m not assuming his wife is a liar. I’m saying that having a headline calling him an abuser when there is no proof is bullshit. Similarly, having a headline calling his wife a liar would be equally bullshit. There is simply no proof of either.
