I don’t know. To me, this article’s tone was more of frustration venting about current state of the market, and less of a fossil fuel lobby commissioned article. But, everyone brings their own connotations which can flavor the interpreted bias.

You can get a new Nissan Leaf for under $30k.

“Understanding how taxes work” is a rich guy thing now, don’t you know?

Hybrids are awful econoboxes that engage the gas engine at under ten mph (in my experience.) what’s the point? It’s basically just start/stop tech in a crappier car.

Except I never argued that EVs are the answer.

I know. That guy's response was ridiculous.

Not in the US.

I wasn’t even talking about myself past the idea that I’m writing a check this year.

Over time a BEV will have a lower carbon footprint than a hybrid. That depends a lot on how “clean” the local grid is, though. Ideally, we should try to get people to BEVs and push to use more renewable power sources. Hybrids, unfortunately, don’t have much potential for reducing their emissions.

Hybrids are great. But we’re talking about EVs here. And used EVs will likely be the attainable option for most people in reference to... EVs.

As for the price of EVs overall, it might just be that... EVs might just cost automakers a ton to make, and lower prices from scale just aren’t coming any time soon.

Early adopters almost always pay more. Yes, it’s still early days for EVs.

A quick reminder that average priced new vehicles have not been affordable to someone making the median income since the Model T. So making that comparison is a bit flawed. New vehicles have always been a luxury item, and marketing them to higher income consumers ($100K is only about the 67th percentile of household

The EV tax credit isn’t a discount on the vehicle’s price.”

35 is considered “slightly older folks”?  Shit.

Jr.’s advocacy efforts for this track have been incredible; wonderful to see success!

I’m not a fan of NASCAR, but I’ll definitely be going to some races. There’s literally nothing for adults to do around here except get drunk or go to church (or both!), so now I can get drunk and watch a bunch of really fast cars go in circles.

What a load of clickbait nonsense. So the screen froze, reboot it. Happens in modern cars running software on the center screen. The car is perfectly operable and shame on Jalopnik for spinning this like somehow the car was stuck at some speed, it is perfectly operable with a frozen screen.

legit issues with the Telsa aside, I’m not sure if I’d ever wanna be a passenger in this person’s car..  just sayin’
