The kid did speed a block away, and crashed. He was likely was on the ground before the cop made into the lane behind him as the crash site was about 700 yards from the gas station.
But it really isn’t since it’s a multi use facility. Wasteful in a city where land demands a premium is a speedway that sits empty 98% of the year.

That is a fair assessment, but I also don’t think LH could have pit without losing the position. Had he pit and came out in P2 with fresh tires that would have been optimal I’m sure, but who knows.
