I must also defend the xD as I owned the model it replaced: the xA. Both cars are usually mocked on this site but I loved my xA as a DD, it was rock solid and never had any issues at all...until it was declared a total loss after I was rear-ended on my way to work. I always though it would be cool in a daily driver to have an electronic device in the car that would give me a choice of many different engine sounds from classic F1 car to Ferrari V12 to Porsche flat-6 and so on. Would be very entertaining I think!

Small nitpick, but the rear 'bucket' seats were designed for only two passengers with the two seat-belt buckles built into the center of the seat back where a third person could otherwise sit in a regular E30 so...not a five person car as you say in your summary. Great review, btw!
