I mean, the headline is literally about how the actors went out of their way to not spoil their appearance.

I totally appreciate that it’s been out a while and people are obviously going to discuss all of the fun surprises in any film, which is why I avoid those discussion forums for most movies I haven’t yet seen. Even though I had already surmised their appearance in the movie due to months of speculation, I’m just saying …
By the time I actually stream this movie I’ll know it by heart thanks to AV Club headlines.
So in the MCU there’s an Iron Heart, and an Iron Fist. Eventually we get enough of these they assemble into a Voltron-like Iron Man Kaiju?
I like after all of that killing and destruction he’s just like “we’re not cut out for this”. Conveniently closing the door on Boba’s odd middle-life crisis.
New band name: Lady Starship.
I was kind of impressed at how Legends kept churning out an entertaining meta superhero show while slowly jettisoning its superheroes...until everyone left was just, like, a melodramatic CW character trying to date everyone else. The whole Constantine going addict and annoying Bishop character last season got old…
Yeah, weird a deep dive character like Vigilante has been on two shows in the past decade. In season 5 they split him into 2 characters - DA Adrian Chase was the main villain, but instead of being Vigilante he was Prometheus in order to create some misdirection. Meanwhile, Vigilante was the third Black Canary’s dead…
When I was 6 or 7 and just getting into comics I bought Vigilante #50. When I got home and read it, I was surprised to find it ended with Vigilante’s guilt over his murderous life and blowing his head off in his bathroom. After that my parents paged through the issues I bought.
For sure, I’ve noticed attracting traffic and clicks has changed the way articles are written. You can pretty much skip the first paragraph of any article here because its just a collection of hyperlinks to previous articles.
I grew up in Madison, WI - original home of The Onion and AV Club, so it’s a bit of a bummer to see it all end in such a crappy way. I guess I’m surprised it’s hung on since 2018 as well as it has (which hasn’t been great).
Holy crap. So that’s it. AV Club is finally actually dead. Dang.
I enjoyed the show once I accepted that he’s more Samurai Jack than SW Boba Fett.
David Cross’s standup comes off as miserable and contemptuous. I’m not against political comedy, but when the joke becomes “can you believe these idiots think this?!” it demands a certain world view that has nothing to do with humor. When you’re not trying to make the audience laugh, it becomes about the person with…
Jeez, a 5-paragraph recap of a 9-minute Late Show segment to say “David Cross to release [probably bad] stand-up special”? Are there not enough streaming TV shows or movies to chat about for you, AV Club?
For sure, continuity has never really mattered in the Bond franchise. Treating Bond as a character frozen in time and without an arc is what has allowed actors to step in and out without ever re-booting (probably why some actors bored so quickly of the role). So even if No Time to Die hadn’t ended as it did, it would…
In 2008 I was excited for Bond being once again fully-formed and ready to go after, well, Bond villains once again. But I couldn’t help be disappointed by Skyfall’s sudden clearing of the board. Looking back now, Skyfall would have been a perfect place for Craig to have left and another actor seamlessly drop in and…
Bob Dole outlived Norm. Just wait until Artie Lange is the lone srivivor of Dirty Work. Life is weird.
I enjoyed this episode, it felt like a classic Samurai Jack helps teach a tribe to defend themselves yarn.
1. Casino Royale - Anyone who says this isn’t the best Craig Bond film might not be a Bond fan - it’s one of the best in the entire series. Bond films’ quality tends to increase the more of Fleming’s material they include, since screenwriters’ idea of a good Bond story is often recycled or cribbed from something better…
