Yeah, they just look like a bunch of...peoples. Say what you will about Zack Snyder’s Justice League, at least those New Gods were otherworldly. This looks like Inhumans but with a budget. I know more than the average movie-goer about comic characters and these are a deep dive even for me. Guardians proved

And aren’t they also kind of Inhumans, take 3?

It felt so generic, starting with the title. I was always surprised when it crept back every season. Even then it felt like it should be on TBS

Thanos seems like he’d be a pretty chill Prom Date’s Dad.

Yeah, he’s a comedy writer for Seth Meyers (and Aidy Bryant’s husband). He pops up in bit parts here and there and does characters (this one is Mike) on his Youtube channel. I don’t know it’s because he’s spoofing stuff that’s already annoying or if he’s just naturally annoying, but I find him kind of shouty and, well,

He’s the next Fred Figglehorn!

Wait, I’m confused.

I think they were trying to capture lightning in a bottle twice, after Harley Quinn became such a breakout star on Batman. Livewire definitely works well on Superman, but then Killer Frost shows up in Justice League she’s definitely a step up.

Yeah they were constantly zapping him which didn’t help. I think they were trying to sideline him in order to put the spotlight on the new characters.

Actually, Kevin Conroy DID play Batman in live action (technically).

The team ups were fun, it was very cool at the time to be seeing Flash and even Dr Fate on the small screen, but definitely took the spot light off of Superman. He’s pretty much an observer in the GL and Aquaman episodes.

While re-watching Superman and Justice League/JLU, I realized one of JLU’s best moments is a deep-cut call back.

Agreed. Tim Daly always sounded more warm and human, like a regular guy. George’s Superman never landed for me, it never sounded natural and was the lone weak link on JL and JLU. It didn’t help that Superman was written a little more jaded post STAS, but George’s delivery always sounded whiny, just a little too

It’s hit or miss for me too. Loved what they did with Ivy, Bane, Clayface, and Shark. Kind of cool they were given the green light to reinvent these characters. But I’m not a huge fan of Harley on her own, I think she’s better as a side character in Suicide Squad animated and live action films. Really, it’s just way

I really thought they’d subvert the expectations we all had of the javelin in a movie where the final bad has a giant eye, but nope, it’s that kind of movie! It was beautiful when it finally happened but it had to be the most obvious setup.

I found it pretty disappointing too. WB gave Gunn carte blanche and he re-made Ayer’s film with more jokes and (needless) gore. Somehow it’s more bland. I don’t feel like it improves on Ayer’s film, it’s just different - visually more striking but still kind of disjointed. Sometimes it was just a little too meta, like

Same! I had a few weeks left on a month of YouTube TV and happen to be working late so I’ve been winding down watching lots of beach volleyball this week. It’s been an easy way to watch the handful of events I have a passing interest in because if it was just gymnastics or race walking I’d be watching Law & Order

or you got up and did something else.

there’s going to be some people who compulsively want to play “captain contrarian” about anything

The headline doesn’t insinuate eligibility, it outright states it as fact, a declaration the article never bothers to clarify the . So your assertion is without merit.
