SNL was in one of its transition periods in 1995 when MadTV debuted, so I watched the first season some. Lamarr was definitely one of the stand outs, and lo-and-behold I’m seeing him in Pulp Fiction around the same time.

I can’t claim to have watched it consistently, but those two seemed to be who FOX promoted heavily for a while (Will Sasso seems totally fine in other stuff I’ve seen him in). MadTV seemed to run the same characters, none of which ever became cultural phenomenons*, into the ground even more than SNL ever did.

Which is sad because the first thing that comes to mind when I think of MadTV are the women (Mo Collins, Nicole Sullivan, Debra Wilson, Alex Borstein) or guys like Key & Peele, Phil LaMarr, Orlando Jones. Not Will Sasso or Frank Caliendo.

Shazam is probably my favorite DC movie thus far, definitely has a great “family” moment.

Well, what’s the most likely explanation? He could have used the song in Watchmen and it independently became her favorite song as she grew older. She was like 10 when he was making Watchmen, how many kids are listening to Leonard Cohen at that age (or watching Watchmen)?

tbh the costumes in BoP look CW-level to me. Particularly what they did to Black Canary and Huntress. It’s just like ‘we’re embarrassed by these characters and this is a Harley Quinn movie so fuck it’

Was stoked when we got the Helm of Fate tease and Jim Corrigan. Had high hopes, but network TV really doesn’t suit these shows. Though the Swamp Thing show didn’t show dropped the ball too (I’m not sure why that show gets as much love as it does, aside from a few fun sequences I thought it was pretty terrible.)

I’m content to call it “content”.
