The AV Club company line is that Infinity War is bad, even though it was way more solid juggling everything than it had any right to.

Black Panther was great and all but it’s not that great. It’s only the 3rd superhero movie where a brothers battle for the throne in a magical realm. The cast and world it creates are top notch, but it’s also the most predictable of all of the MCU movies.
I didn’t love this episode either. I like bottle and hangout episodes but this felt like like fan-fic (well, technically it is) as all of these characters’ arcs merge after all these years. A few interactions is naturally called for, but half-way through it felt like Jaime was checking boxes on his next appointment.
Isn’t Richard Greico the correct answer to this?
Well, to be fair, all the previous attempts haven’t really aimed to be anything more than B-movies. But something is definitely up if they haven’t even shown footage or stills from something that is premiering in 6 weeks. We’ve already seen more from Stargirl and that doesn’t premiere until next year. I have read that…
That would make him “Swamp Thng”
I just signed up for DCUniverse last week and am enjoying it thus far. I’ve never given Doom Patrol much thought, but once Timothy Dalton was on board I was sold.
Struck down by Syphilis.
Richard Dormer is the main reason I kept watching Fortitude. He needs to be in more stuff.
A White Wight.
I have a feeling Ant-Man will provide the necessary expository dialogue.
I also didn’t realize it was Lions Gate, which should probably have been the biggest red flag.
The makeup looks like it’s 15 years behind the first Hellboy movie, which is 15 years ago. That’s means it looks fifteen-teen years old!
You heard the man, GOGGLE IT!
I’m not sure why Hollywood keeps trying to force Jeremy Renner on us. And I guess there wasn’t enough snark to go around so they dulled Hawkeye to a pulp. The best thing Avengers did was “Cyclops” him.
It might be good. The makeup looks like it’s 10 years behind Ron Pearljam’s 2005 makeup, but The Descent was good and Ian McShane!
Field Trip!
It wasn’t absolute, but there was definitely an “embargo” placed on certain characters during that period. That’s why most of Batman’s rogues didn’t appear in Justice League and JL Unlimited, and why R’as, Two-Face, and Scarecrow didn’t appear in The Batman cartoon.
Yeah, Batman will always sell, but the world was apparently ready for an Aquaman movie. Just maybe don’t rush another Steel movie.
Especially considering Marvel built their movie franchise using their bench. If Marvel can make money from a space tree, then DC can make a decent Booster Gold or Green Lantern movie. Though I do dig their TV approach - Timothy Dalton in a Doom Patrol show of all things was what sold me on their streaming channel.
